VFX ProductionVFX Line Producer

VFX Production

Often on large scale productions, in addition to a VFX Producer, a VFX Line Producer may also be required. Working closely with the overseeing producer, supervisors and leads, their primary focus is the planning and management of the budget and financial resources of the production.

  • Managing the finances of a production and ensuring schedules are kept to keep on budget.
  • Assisting supervisors and producers overseeing artists meet their deadlines.
  • Collating data and building reports for company directors.
  • Structuring and implementing schedules for artists.
  • Ensuring client approvals are documented and progressing.
  • Work with the HR manager to ensure all artist positions are filled with qualified candidates.
  • Work with the accounting department to ensure all invoices are paid on time.
  • Report progress and financial data to company directors and clients.

Skills required for a successful VFX Line Producer include;


Strong budgeting, communication, and scheduling skills


Database, spreadsheet and word processing experience.


High attention to detail.


Works well with team and is able to lead team schedules


Basic understanding of film and VFX methodologies, file formats and terminology.


Can perform under pressure, and manage working with deadlines.


Ability to motivate team members and maintain a positive environment


Punctual, calm, instinctual forethought and troubleshooting skills
